DETAILED COMPREHENSION

A – 1 The scene is set in a place which the narrator knows well.
“ in the apartment in Sutton Place where I grew up.” (l.2)

2 Mack plans to come back one day.
“ ‘One of these days I’ll turn the key in the lock and be home’” (l.7)

3 The narrator was a teenager when Mack left.
“ I was sixteen when Mack disappeared.” (l.17)

4 The narrator is without a job.
“ so at the moment, I’m unemployed” (l.20-21)


B – 1 Mack has always kept in touch with his family.
RIGHT
“ But every year at some point on Mother’s Day, he calls to assure Mom he is fine.” (l.5-6)
